The Instagram account for General Motors Design is usually focused on sharing various sketches and designs created by designers for different projects, or sometimes just for fun. But this week the official GM account did something really cool and that was to share these two behind-the-scenes looks at the photo shoots for the 2024 Corvette E-Ray which produced the official photos that were shared during January’s launch of the first performance hybrid Corvette.
Chevrolet had two different locations for the photos with one taking place during the day while the other was shot at night. The daytime shoot took place on a curvy two-lane road through the woods and it featured the Silver Flare E-Ray with the Electric Blue racing stripes. The photographers employed a common trick of wetting down the road, making it darker, and we also see a smoke machine which added a mysterious look to the photos of the E-Ray. We can also tell the photo went through some image processing to get the final look just right.
In the second post, General Motors Design shares the pics and video from the nighttime photoshoot which took place on a bridge. (If anyone knows this location, please let us know in the comments!) These photos featured the Silver Flare E-Ray Convertible once again, along with the Coupe version shown in the new Riptide Blue Metallic. GM Design notes in the description that they “took to the skies” to capture the E-Ray and there is video showing a drone over the bridge.

The night shot looks like Columbus, Ohio with LeVegue
I can tell by the skyline it is Downtown Columbus, Ohio. It’s skyline is beautiful at night.
The night time bridge is the Main Street Bridge in Columbus , Ohio. First inclined arch bridge in USA. Fifth in world.
