[VIDEO] Corvette Academy Series Takes a Closer Look at the E-Ray Performance App

Introduced in January, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray is Chevrolet’s first foray into hybrid power and all-wheel-drive for the Corvette. It’s 160-hp front mounted electrical motor is powered by a 1.9 kWh battery pack while in the rear is the all-American LT2 V8 engine making 495 hp. The two systems generate 655-hp combined making the E-Ray the quickest Corvette to date with the capability to run 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds.

To provide the driver with information and insight into the Corvette E-Ray’s hybrid system, Chevrolet developed a Performance App which provides all kinds of data and feedback. In this latest video from Chevy’s Corvette Academy series, we get an introduction of the E-Ray Performance App’s features.

Gauge Display on the E-Ray Performance App

Carolyn Sweeney, whose title is Corvette Calibration Engineer – Battery Systems, introduces the app in a video called “Technology on Display.” Specifically made for the E-Ray, the app features three primary display layouts. The Gauges screen shows the dynamic power output from both the front-mounted electric motor and the rear LT2 V8 engine. The Dyno screen shares graphs and other info related to the power and torque, and the Data screen shows the electrical system performance and overall efficiency. “The app really aims to visually depict the complex advanced propulsion and chassis controls that this car has, to provide transparency to the driver,” says Carolyn.

Stefan Frick, Corvette Energy Integration Engineer, calls the Corvette E-Ray “the most technologically advanced Corvette ever developed” and says the E-Ray’s Performance App “is going to give you that confidence and very connected, intuitive, tied-in feel with what the driver’s asking for.”
