When it comes to Corvettes, there don’t seem to be many secrets, despite the best efforts of the team at General Motors.

Take, for instance, the C8 Corvette. It’s been widely suspected for years that two more variants of Chevy’s eighth-generation supercar are likely on the way, including the ZR1 and the ultimate Zora.

We’ve seen spy photos of the heavily disguised prototypes believed to be ZR1s motoring around the country, but no one outside GM’s circle really knows what the upcoming ZR1 will look like.

An artist at the HotCars website named Timothy Adry Emmanuel hasn’t seen the ZR1 either (as far as we know), but he certainly didn’t let that keep him from coming up with his own very beautiful rendering of what he thinks the car will look like.

And if Chevy follows the same line of thought, we’d be pleased!

TITLE

The actual car is rumored to feature the Z06’s LT6 5.5-liter V8 engine, but with a new twist – a twin turbo setup that could boost the power to some 800 horsepower/800 lb-ft of torque – considerably more than the Z06’s already impressive 670 horsepower/460 lb-ft of torque.

That would likely make the ZR1 the fastest Corvette ever, that is, until the Zora comes along with its rumored 1,000 horsepower thanks to a boost from electric motors.

Emmanuel offers up his renderings of the ZR1 hardtop convertible in a pair of enticing colors – a burnt orange and a shade similar to the current Rapid Blue.

He also adds ZR1 badging to the widebody along with plenty of carbon fiber trim, including a stinger hood that really sets the car off, in our opinion. He’s also added carbon fiber to the side intakes, side skirts, and front and rear spoilers, as well as extra canards on the front bumper that add a touch of beauty sitting still and extra performance on the track.

Check back in a few months to see just how accurately Emmanuel was able to predict the ZR1’s appearance. What do you think it will look like?

  1. Chevy should have stayed with the classic Corvette design. Porsche has stayed with the 911 concept for years and sells every car they make for top dollar.

  2. Better look more distinctive than an extra canard and a little fake bump on the hood. Bit a let down if it does not pass 800HP. However, if they don’t really change the engine and add turbos, they might be constrained.

  3. The ZR1 should have round tail lights and take the point off the nose. I thought after time the C8 would grow on me…that never happened. Good thing I don’t the C8 (especially the base model), because I would never pay current pricing for the Z06 nor what crazy prices the ZR1 is going to command. For that kind of money, I’d buy a GT3, a McClaren or an Audi R8.
