Today starts the May order cycle for the 2023 Corvette Stingrays and we have some constraints to tell you about. FYI, this is the second to last order cycle for the Stingray with final ordering for the 2023 models coming in June.

We told you yesterday that Elkhart Lake Blue and Caffeine were no longer orderable, but guess who didn’t tell the dealers? That’s right. GM has sent no notifications to dealers that these two colors have been built out. In fact, the only way a dealer knows they can’t order them is by trying to input them with an order, and then getting an error message that pops up on the screen and tells them the colors “are built-out for the 2023 Model Year.” Those dealers who spent the time lining up their orders for today now have to go back to any of their customers who wanted those two colors and have them pick another.

This is not the way to do business, and as we have said recently, the communication between dealers and GM on really easy items such as telling them that two exterior colors are already built out has really been atrocious. It reflects badly on both the automaker and the dealer, and customers are once again left in the dark about what can be ordered in a timely fashion.

As far as other constraints go, the Q9I Spoke Gloss Black Wheels are back but limited, and we see the Non-Z51 Stingrays are also partially on constraint as they have been over the last few months. What’s surprising to us is that the 70th Anniversary Editions have also been cut back and a limited number are available to order nationwide.

Once this order cycle closes for Stingray, we assume there will be another one in two weeks for the Z06 for May. Then we’ll be watching to see what comes in June which should then end ordering for the 2023 Corvette Model Year.

As it has already been stated, Chevy will be running the 2023 model year through September 1st and then the 2024 models will begin on September 5th following the Labor Day weekend.
