Back in March, Chevrolet told their dealers that they will no longer be accepting Customer Sold Orders (SRE) for the 2023 Corvette Z06, despite the fact that the 2023 model year would continue through September 1st.

Chevrolet made that decision ostensibly for more control over the Z06 ordering process, and in our opinion of not wanting to get caught with customer sold orders on the books that they can’t build. The decision was a curious one, as the 2023 Stingray has no such order restrictions placed on it.

Despite being limited to Dealer Stock Orders, Chevy dealers are still able to submit their customer Z06 orders as a Dealer Stock Order (TRE), but in doing so, there were a couple of popular options that Chevrolet would not include on Dealer Stock Orders: The R8C Museum Delivery program and the R6X Custom Interior Trim and Seat Combinations.

This week, Chevrolet updated the Distribution section of the 2023 Corvette Order guide to now allow those RPOs to be ordered with the 2023 Corvette Z06. Unfortunately, we checked in with a couple of dealers who had no idea that Chevy made the change, and we understand that these Order Guide changes were not in the previous communication memo to dealers.

So if you get the call for your Z06 allocation and you are interested in taking delivery of your Z06 at the National Corvette Museum, you’ll want to reference that it’s now okay to order the R8C as per the update to the 2023 Corvette Order Guide.
