Chevrolet Has Zero Allocations for Z06 Nationwide

Today was supposed to be the start of another Z06 order cycle, and we know that dealers were anticipating something following the recent memo about the final customer orders for the Z06 need to be submitted by April 5th. But unfortunately, it’s the same bad news as last month…zero allocations nationwide.

We don’t know what’s going on with the car, and our friends at various dealers don’t know what is going on either. But we do know these two things, first is that Chevrolet announced a hard deadline for customer sold orders to be in by April 5th, and there is just one more Thursday (March 30th) that appears on the calendar before that deadline.

So, Keith…are you saying there is still a chance?

Yes, we suppose there could be allocations that drop next Thursday, and dealers would have until that following Tuesday, April 4th at 11:59 PM to finalize those customer sold orders. I guess anything is possible at this point. But the reality is that we are one week away from knowing whether or not there will any more customer Z06 orders submitted for the 2023 model year.

It must be extraordinarily difficult to be a Corvette seller in this environment, with customers beating down your door to hand over money for a car that can’t be ordered. Just keep that in mind when you’re calling your dealer that they are in the dark like the rest of us.

GM has left the door open to further allocations by telling dealers that they retain the ability to submit Dealer Stock Orders after the April 5th deadline, and we know many dealers that would love to get their hands on a Dealer Stock Order because then it can be sold in a manner that benefits them the most.

  1. Unfortunately I think this last cycle covers the next two weeks of ordering for dealers. So no Z06 allocation chances until the next cycle on April 20th. And all of those will be dealer stock if there are any. Dealers are totally in the dark on Z06!

  2. [email protected]
My build week for my ZO6 was last week of march. Due to plant shutdown when should my build happen? what has been delivery time frame after it’s built to Utah?

  3. With all due respect, I’m amazed by the statement in the last paragraph… “we know many dealers that would love to get their hands on a Dealer Stock Order because then it can be sold in a manner that benefits them the most.” Nothing has stopped dealers, especially GM, from selling the Z06 in a manner that benefits them the most. Fact.

  4. GM has said that in the next 12 months they are going to eliminate a lot of upper management jobs. I hope they find the incompetent SOB that screwed up the Corvette Z06 and walk his ( or her) ass out first. In the past 3 years GM/Chevrolet has made the worst manufacturing and marketing decisions in the history of the auto industry. I’ve been loyal to the brand my entire life, but this is down-right embarrassing.

  5. Long time gm buyer the whole “market adjustment ” way of life now with dealers has left me sour..0 interest in the Z06 for 200,000 plus . they can keep it

  6. GM has done nothing to curb dealer price gouging. A local dealer in my area wanted 100k over MSRP for the Z06 they received, bringing the price to 243k. I am a corvette owner and would buy a tesla plaid for less and make a fool of a Z06 owner with my family and pets in the car.

  7. could be because ya just issued a recall for the 2021 transmission module on cars ? or is it the expence

  8. GM must be having problems with parts supplies. I was turned down for a regular C8 order because of Z51 option. and of course, as you know, the BGA plant was closed this week. You don’t close a plant because you are missing a few parts. It is very frustrating and appears to be a sign of the times.

  9. Someone in logistics drop the ball.and cause this failure to produce the Z06. All the hype prior yet did not have the knowledge to secure parts to produce the C8. I sold my 2021 C8 HTC and got the best for it. Waiting for the Z06 is useless. 2024 2025 new design will be the same situation. GM will not be able to produce it fast enough. Time to look elsewhere and get my deposit back.

  10. Dennis, it took a month to get mine delivered from the factory to Calif for the C8 I purchased from Kerbeck (Ciocca) in NJ.

  11. Marty, sounds like you should have been shopping at Tesla from the beginning not GM anyhow. I am fortunate enough to have a small performance car collection along with a daily driver.
I have a Tesla P100D, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, 65 GT 350 Mustang (unfortunately, not matching numbers), 458, 992 4S and a base C8. The Tesla is not my favorite nor the most engaging to drive, it’s the wife’s. The Tesla is cool, but the fun factor/coolness wears off. Take my opinion for what it’s worth.

  12. Automotive production and value in vehicles is gone theses days …………i drive a 03 Silverado with 300k these new corvette ” Ferrari” are trash …………ford beat Ferrari why would you copy a car company that loses

  13. I received a call on Friday from my dealer letting me know they had been given 1 Z06 allocations. I put my order in on Friday 3/24. They said it go through this week. I will definitely give you an update. I am very confused.
