On Thursday, GM will kick off another round of 2023 Corvette Stingray orders, but buyers will have two less colors to choose from. Elkhart Lake Blue and Caffeine have officially been built out, and April’s order cycle was the last chance to order them.

During the NCM Bash, we got the updated production totals for the 14 different exterior colors that were available on the 2023 Corvette model year. Elkhart Lake Blue was at 5% of the Stingray production and was ranked 9th of the 14 exteriors, while Caffeine came in ranked last with just 1% of orders. That means there are just around 380 or so Caffeine Stingrays running around in the wild.

For the Z06, Elkhart Lake Blue was at 4% of production, but it ranked 13th of 14 exterior colors. Dead last was Caffeine which accounts for just 1% of Z06 production.

While Caffeine was just a one-year color, Elkhart Lake Blue has been around since 2019 and the final year of the C7 Corvette before appearing on all 2020-2023 model years of C8 Corvette production.

For the 2024 model year, Chevrolet is replacing Elkhart Lake Blue with the new Riptide Blue Metallic, and Caffeine will be replaced with Cacti which we expect will also have a low single digit percentage of production. The last change for exteriors on the 2024 models is that Seawolf Gray Tri-coat will be replacing the popular White Pearl that appears on the 70th Anniversary models.

We have more constraints for the 2023 Corvette Stingray once they are sent out dealers in the morning.

  1. When this brown color was announced, I said, where is my barf bag. Corvette did brown decades ago. It looked horrible then, but now it’s a new generation of color pickers with all the taste in their mouth.

  2. Why they would continue to offer the Corvette in any brown color is beyond me, who wants a brown car, especially when it’s a Corvette? YUCK!

  3. Those turd brown cars may be worth some money one day. So they go from poop to puke with the Cacti color.

  4. Got to disagree concerning Brown…if it is done right. I thought the Zeus Bronze was a great color. Especially with the right wheels, the natural interior, and black accents. It is not overly aggressive and bold. It smoothed some of that out. And that is not what everyone wants for their Vette. Some do want a more subtle elegance for more of a GT feeling as opposed to hypercar…Other colors can inspire that GT feeling but it is good to have options.

But with that said, I did hate the current Caffeine color. It did not achieve those feelings at all.

  5. I have one Zeus bronze and a caffeine ZO6 and I get stopped everywhere especially in the sunshine with the metallic in the Z06. You have to see them in person especially with the natural interior plus they’re so rare now that the cars will just go up in value even more than they normally would.
