Big news coming out of Chevrolet today regarding some changes to the 2023 Corvette Z06 Order Guide. We just caught this update late this afternoon, and this is really some good news!

From how we read this (and it’s a tad confusing), the gist is that Chevrolet is now allowing you to order the Carbon Fiber wheels without the Z07 Performance Package:

Chevrolet 2023 Corvette
For 2023 Corvette Z06 models 1YH07 and 1YH67 available RPO’s (ROY) carbon flash painted carbon fiber wheels, requires (J57) Ceramic Brake Rotors, not available with (T0G) carbon aero, visible, carbon fiber and (ROZ) carbon fiber, visible wheels requires (J57) ceramic brake rotors, not available with (T0F) carbon aero, carbon fiber, carbon flash-painted. Note: both (ROY) and (ROZ) no longer requires Z07 Performance Package. Please refer to the vehicle order guide for further details.

The way we read this is that the Z06’s carbon fiber wheels in either visible carbon fiber (ROZ) and Carbon Flash Metallic (ROY) can be ordered without having to order the Z07 Performance Package. The wheels do require the J57 Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and even if you don’t order the Z07 package, you still will not be able to order the carbon fiber wheels with the big wing carbon aero packages (either T0G or T0J).

Like we said, this is great news for those who wanted the carbon fiber wheels on the standard car.

The other point to this distribution update is that Chevrolet is telling us that you can’t mix and match the wheels and carbon aero for those ordering the Z07 and carbon fiber wheels. The update says that visible carbon fiber wheels need to be paired with visible carbon fiber aero, and the same goes with the carbon flash painted carbon fiber wheels. That seems to make sense once you understand that point.

I do try to be the optimist. However, part of me thinks that this change was done because of those still unknown constraints listed last week for the Z07 Performance Package. I mean, are they so bad that Chevy is allowing you to order the visible carbon fiber wheels in their place? I know some who want the wheels more than the Z07, so it could be possible.

One other update was made to the Order Guide made earlier this month, and that had to do with the ZZ3 Engine Appearance Package which is no longer available to order.
