Having a 495-horsepower monster engine sitting behind you in a new mid-engine Corvette can be a little tempting for the driver sometimes.
Just ask the 48-year-old man who was clocked April 26 doing more than double the speed limit on I-75 North by an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.
Nicolai Crumpler was driving his 2023 Rapid Blue Corvette at a whopping 149 mph in Warren County (north of Cincinnati) along the interstate near State Route 122 at approximately 9:28 p.m., the OSHP reported.
Crumpler explained to troopers he was driving a new car and got cut off by another driver, according to body camera footage. We’re not sure exactly how that explains speeding at 149 mph. Regardless, Crumpler will have his day in court in Lebanon Municipal Court on May 19.
With more than 162,000 speed-related crashes in Ohio since 2018, the OSHP encourages drivers to slow down.

This guy is plenty old enough to know better than to be speeding like that on the interstate. He could have easily killed somebody.
I periodically drive 140-150 on I-95 with no traffic in sight with no problem

His defense will be there was no way he was going 149mph. He knows for a fact he was doing 175mph.
Hit a deer one time going 65-70 and that was quite memorable, so good luck in your adventures on I95.
