[VIDEO] C7 Corvette Z06 Driver Caught Speeding Lucks Out With 'Really Cool Cop'

When you’ve got a yellow C7 Corvette Z06, coupled with extra-loud Corsa mufflers, it’s not hard to attract the attention of the police.

Witness this recent traffic stop involving YouTuber MotorTube, who was enjoying a beautiful winter day after getting his Z06 out of storage.

He had taken his Corvette to a nearby park and was letting his viewers watch – and listen – to his 1,000-horsepower Z06 that’s been upgraded with a ProCharger unit, when what could have turned into a disaster quickly went in the opposite direction.

MotorTube makes no excuses for his loud Corvette, even calling it “obnoxious” in front of the officer and offering to leave the park.

The policeman says that wouldn’t be necessary, saying a buddy of his had a Z06 “so I get it,” but he does ask MotorTube to take other park visitors into account when he’s driving through the area.

Asking about his driving record, MotorTube answers that it’s good and it’s been a year and a half or two years since he’s gotten a ticket.

After the officer checks his computer back at his car, he returns with MotorTube’s license and registration in hand and courteously tells him he’s all set and to have a great day.

That’s when the situation takes an even more surprising turn, though, when MotorTube thanks the cop for his service and asks if he would be willing to take a photo with the two cars.

“What a nice guy, really cool cop,” he says to himself, asking the officer if he would mind pulling his police car behind the Corvette for a better photo. “Go a little forward, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, all right, perfect.”

It’s nice to see mutual respect between a YouTuber and a policeman. Great job, guys!

  1. The car screams look at me, arrest me and take me to jail. The owner knows how to kiss ass with the cops. He’s a cool YouTuber that I actually liked enough (for a welcome change) to watch his video all the way to the end. More power to him!

  2. Pretty cool cop. This dude is apparently not hurting for money. I would leave it Yellow. Vettes are one of the few cars that look good in Yellow, plus it’s the race team colors.

  3. Most cops are decent if you show them some respect. Getting pulled over for noise is one thing, might have been if he was stopped for speed or reckless driving.

  4. Been pulled over a number of times in corvettes and let go with only a verbal warning almost every time, once going 130 mph (1 am, no traffic around on an enclosed, well-lit highway). I really expected I was going to jail. The officer came to the window and said “This is not your personal raceway. Slow down and have a nice night.” I spoke to him for a bit after that and he said when he saw what I was driving he was just happy I had pulled over instead of running. He was also happy that I pulled over in a safe spot. I have had multiple officers thank me for that. Another time I got annoyed with someone going slow in the passing lane after patiently waiting behind them for several miles. I finally had a chance to go around them and gunned it, just as a state trooper was entering the highway. When I pulled over, well off the highway, he was laughing about how hard I had hit the brakes when I spotted him. “Damn near broke your neck”. He asked why I had been speeding and I told him about the car in the passing lane blocking traffic. He told me to slow down and have a nice day. I could go on with several other stories, but the point is: make it clear you are pulling over, pull over somewhere where the cop is not at risk of being hit by highway traffic, be nice and don’t try to pretend you weren’t speeding, and a lot of cops, at least here in Texas, will let you off the hook. Can’t say the same for Louisiana and Alabama cops.

Also, I am 100% sure if I had been driving a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche or some other exotic that I wouldn’t have gotten away with warnings.
