The 1969 model year has always been a favorite of Corvette enthusiasts and the shark design still looks great all these years later. Designed to look just like the original documented ZL-1, it’s finished in Daytona Yellow with the trademark black stripe running along the front edge and coming to a point on the quarter panels. Chrome bumpers, stainless steel side exhaust, and Firestone Wide Oval tires will make you think your back in the ’60s.

This ZL-1 Tribute will bring miles of smiles as you shift through the four-speed transmission that’s connected to a Summit Racing 454-cubic inch engine producing 550 hp! The engine has been constructed to look like the rare ZL-1 427 engine, and the big block roar out the side exhaust is sure to turn heads wherever you roam.

While this Corvette is only a tribute to the mighty ZL-1, it’s famous in its own right for being one of the 36 Corvettes offered in the 1989 VH-1 Corvette Giveaway. The collection was purchased by pop artist Peter Max who planned to use them in an art project that never materialized. For decades the 36 Corvettes would languish in a number parking garages in New York City before being rescued by the Corvette Heroes in what was dubbed “the greatest Corvette barn find ever.”

The Lost Corvettes has partnered with Stand for the Troops to bring you this unique automotive sweepstakes. This Lost Corvettes Giveaway is a charitable promotion sponsored by Stand for the Troops, a 501(c)(3) organization whose current mission investigates and connects veterans to result-oriented treatments for the Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) responsible for so many military suicides.

  1. Hey Keith, I merely pointed out the car sits too high in the rear which anyone would agree. And I asked if it had an aluminum block which is the #1 detail that would make a ZL1 clone. So why delete my comment?
