[VIDEO] Jesse Iwuji Sets Fastest Time Yet for the C8 Z06 in the 1/8 Mile

Don’t miss what’s being described as the fastest mph C8 Z06 in the world in this YouTube video posted by the car’s owner, Jesse Iwuji.

Jesse describes himself on his channel as a U.S. Navy officer and NASCAR driver who loves anything with a motor and four wheels!

That description would definitely include his 2023 Amplify Orange Z06 coupe, which has remained stock except for 20-inch 305 drag radials but still managed to post some excellent 1/8-mile times during a couple of recent runs at Irwindale Speedway in Southern California.

“While the car isn’t the quickest 1/8-mile C8Z to date,” Jesse says, “it’s the fastest mph, just showing how this car really maximizes its power. There’s another C8Z a few hundreds of a second quicker.”

With all his trips to the 1/8-mile and ¼-mile drag strip so far, Jesse explains he’s been able to hit 109 mph about three or four times, 108 mph multiple times, and 105-107 the rest. “I’ve hit 109 mph on two different drag strips, three hours apart from each other,” he says.

Having completed 11 quarter-mile passes since buying the car, he says six of them have been 10.4 seconds, with the best 10.44 @ 134 mph.

In his most recent 1/8-mile runs at Irwindale, Jesse first took on a black C6 and admits he didn’t get off to a great start and wound up losing, though he did still match his previous best 1/8-mile time of 6.69 at 109 mph with a 60-foot time of 1.547 seconds.

His next run – against a mildly upgraded white Toyota Supra believed to be making more than 600 horsepower and running mid-10s in the quarter-mile – proved to be his new best time ever – a 6.66 at 105 mph with a 60-foot time of 1.52 seconds. Jesse was happier with his start this time and ended up in a tight race with the Supra, though the Toyota driver wound up losing as a result of red-lighting on the take-off.

Having clocked more than 7,000 miles already on the odometer after just two and a half months on the road, Jesse admits he’s using his new Z06 the way Tadge Juechter and crew designed it to be.

“This car just amazes me every single time,” he says in the video. “This thing is a freaking monster.”
