Our friend Mike from the Brink of Speed YouTube Channel has already ridden in a new 2023 Corvette Z06, but in his latest video, he gets to take one for a drive!
This is a fun driving review that features Jesse Iwuji, a NASCAR driver and Corvette enthusiast who we’ve featured previously. Jesse owns an Amplify Orange Z06 Coupe with Tech Bronze aluminum wheels, and it’s a 3LZ with the base aero package. As a guy who spends his time professionally behind the wheel, Jesse’s thoughts as to why he went with the configuration is very insightful.

The two spend some time talking about the Z06 and its features, and Mike’s 2023 Corvette Stingray Convertible is there so the two C8 models can be be compared and contrasted.
Once on the road, Mike makes the observation that it drives like a completely different car as compared to his Stingray. Jesse says “That motor just changed the game on this car,” and that’s one of the main reasons why he doesn’t miss having the Z07 package because with the Z06, you are really buying the car for the motor, the widebody design, and that sound.
Really good stuff here from Mike and Jesse, and nice to get an actual owner’s perspective from someone who loves Corvettes.

What a great ride
What was it that Mike said that you heard from no other Youtuber?
This guy was refreshing to listen to. Speed, Strad, and Emily hurt my ears.
Mike is a great guy! Knows his stuff and makes great points without yelling – easy to watch and listen.
Finally, an honest reviewer. I’ve been saying all along the Areo and Z07 is really all about Bling. Which is OK if that’s what you need. Me I don’t so my Z06 will be like Jessies.
rtbasey, to answer your question, that you don’t need the Z07 package. The C8 Z06 is good enough on it’s own because of the motor. All the other youtubers said you need the Z07 package. He didn’t think it was worth the extra cost.
