As Corvette enthusiasts wait for more info about ordering the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray, it might be worth taking a trip to the local auto show as Chevy has several different E-Ray show cars now on the auto show circuit. We’ve previously spied the Cacti Green E-Ray at the Washington D.C. auto show, and now we have our first walkaround of the Silver Flare E-Ray wearing the Electric Blue racing stripes.
This Corvette E-Ray was featured in Chevrolet’s official photography for the car, so it’s cool that we can get a closer look at how the car is spec’d. Parked next to it at the auto show is the Sea Wolf Gray E-Ray cutaway display as well.
Our reviewer who found the car is obviously very excited to see it, but he makes a couple incorrect assumptions about it that were caught on camera, including how the front facia has “moving panels that open” to allow additional cooling. That’s not the case as the E-Ray is cooled through the front grille openings and side scoops just like the other C8s, although Chevy engineers added an additional radiator mounted vertically on the driver’s side corner.
We really like the appearance of the E-Ray with the Silver Flare exterior and Electric Blue racing stripe. It’s further optioned with the visible carbon fiber ground effects, carbon flash black five-spoke wheels, and the 3LT Two-Tone Blue interior.
Before moving on, we also get to see the E-Ray’s front-mounted 160-hp electric drive motor on the cutaway display.
