[RIDES] Jennifer's One-Owner 1966 Corvette Sting Ray Sport Coupe

Long time readers know that I am the owner of a Black 1966 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible that was purchased new by my father, and after he passed away, it was eventually passed down to me. So when I watched this video from Patrick at PALS Auto Repair in Ocala, Florida, I found the story to be very familiar.

In the YouTube video, Patrick introduces Jennifer and her 1966 Corvette Sting Ray Sport Coupe. PALS Auto Repair of Ocala, Florida did a full body-off restoration on the car and now is the big day for Jennifer to pick up her father’s car and continue making history with it.

After purchasing the car new, Jennifer says her dad would eventually change the exterior color from its original Mosport Green to a Canary Yellow before going back to Mosport Green. As it needed a total restoration, Jennifer says she decided to have it painted Tuxedo Black.

She says she attempted to start the restoration herself, “however, it didn’t go so well which is why we ended up at Pals Auto Car,” she says. In a separate video, the mechanic at PALS says when they pulled it from the garage, the car was essentially a roller with just about everything but the engine removed.

As the Corvette was being rebuilt, they discovered a crack in the original 327’s engine block, so she decided to go the restomod route with a 383-stroker motor dressed up to look as if it came from the mid-60s.

Seeing the Corvette now complete, she tells Patrick, “There’s no words, I could not be happier. It’s spectacular.”

Congrats to Jennifer for keeping that a one-family-owned Corvette, and we hope she enjoys miles of smiles with her “new” Corvette!
