Chevy has been big into video teasers this week with the automaker offering glimpses of the upcoming E-Ray and the Z06 GT3.R ahead of their January reveals. Yesterday we learned the E-Ray will be revealed on January 17th and that will be followed 10 days later with the public display of the new Z06 GT3.R race car.

Corvette Racing recently posted a teaser video through the Team Chevy social channels for the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R which shows the car testing last month at Sebring International Raceway. The post confirms that Chevy will be “Taking the Wraps off the Corvette Z06 GT3.R on January 27th,” which is on Friday prior to the 61st Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The Z06 GT3.R marks Chevrolet’s first foray into offering a factory-built racecar complete with a customer support program. Chevrolet has an application program for the race car and it’s believed that 10 cars will be built for 2024 and another 10 will be completed the year after for a total of 20 cars to satisfy the global homologation rules.

Corvette Racing’s Pratt and Miller are building the racecars and we got our first look at it last October as it was undergoing testing at GM’s Milford Proving Ground. Since then, the car has completed a number of tests at different tracks with the most recent test session completed in December at Sebring.

Chevrolet announced that Corvette Racing driver Tommy Milner will be the lead development driver for the new racer. Tommy is coming off a stint as a lead driver for the team’s 2022 FIA WEC campaign and will also return to IMSA competition for the 2023 schedule as the endurance driver for the No. 3 Corvette C8.R.

SportsCar365.com tells us that additional GT3 reveals will continue at Sebring as the new Ford Mustang GT3 is also expected to make its public debut ahead of its 2024 release.

  1. I will be at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and the Daytona 500. I’m driving my 992 GT3 to the 24 hour race and my ZL1 1LE to the 500. It’s gonna be a blast!

  2. No ZO6 or ZR1?? What the hell, sounds like a half assed collection there bub:) Must be hard to watch a car that you own get it’s ass handed to it, well depending on much punishment weight the powers that be put on the Vette. But you’re right even with the overrated German thing it should be a blast.
