1963 is the holy grail year because it’s the only year of the split window. The 1963 Corvette Sport Coupe is on almost every true collector’s list and this one for sale at 427Stingray.com had garnered tons of interest. Beautiful frame-off restoration, although not in the original blue, it is a nice custom color choice.

  1. IMHO Daytona Blue with Saddle interior was one of the very best color combos in 63. Why would somebody have it repainted an off color like that?

  2. I owned a Daytona blue 63 Split Window with Dark Blue interior, numbers matching 327-4 speed. We did a body on restoration but kept the colors correct. Leather was only available in saddle as this was first year for leather. Not nearly as beautiful or the quality of leather as in this car. My guess is this had a non-numbers matching motor since it wasn’t mentioned in the very first sentence which is what collectors really demand. Mine was 20 years ago and times are changing and we’re seeing more custom cars and I think that’s great. This is a beautiful combination and very tastefully done. Even the wood shifter knob is classy and sure beats the little black plastic knob that was stock that year for the Borg-Warner transmission, again a one year only gear box as they soon changed to Muncie with chrome knob for 1964. The radio is custom but you can at least hear your tunes on it. I feel like the “fully numbers matching” craze is overdone and there is room for both. This car is beautiful and much nicer than original!
