With the way this rollout has gone for the 2023 Corvette Z06, we sure could use some good news from Chevrolet about the production status of the car. Well, here it is: The first customer-order 2023 Corvette Z06s have been completed!!

Coming in at 331 days after last year’s reveal in California, the first customer-owned cars have been finished. Chevy even made their self-imposed “Summer Availability” deadline with today being the final day of Summer.

With multiple sources chiming in, we’ve known since Wednesday that Chevrolet has reached this milestone with America’s newest supercar. Now, all we need is for the automaker to share the photo of that first Z06 Corvette at the end of the assembly line to make it official.

Our sources also tell us that more Z06s are scheduled to be built next week as well. Stay tuned, and congratulations as the Z06’s Start of Regular Production (SORP) is here!!

  1. With the way Chevrolet has handled the build up to & allocation process so far I personally think of this news as a “SO WHAT” moment in the history Chevrolet. If it wasn’t for the tremendous engineering achievements the Corvette Team thought up & produced it wouldn’t even rate that much of a comment!!!!!

  2. Jon i could not agree more i am on the Z 06 list and i know i will never live long enough to drive the car.

  3. Nobody cares anymore, they burned us out. With the high dealer mark-ups it just cost too much. The thrill is gone.

  4. They over hyped the car. Several friends who were serious in wanting a Z06 now have moved on and bought something else. It’s sad. I’ve had Vettes for years (have two now) and hoped the C8 Z06 would be my last, I’m 75 years old now. They’ve taken the Corvette to another level leaving lifelong Vette enthusiasts behind. It’s now the mid-engine and mid-engine attraction that has new people buying the car. Hopefully I’ll get one before I Croke.

  5. I’m #4 on my dealers list. I’ll probably never see one delivered here. I’m 75 also and I am thinking about trying to get just the regular C8 with the Z51 option. Probably can’t get it either. GM has teased us too long. I agree with TW, nobody cares anymore. I may go with a different brand entirely.

  6. Sorry GM but I am sick of the C8 bullcrap and mark ups. Will now be buying a C7 instead.

  7. I waited 2years and 2 months for a C8 that l ordred the first part of September 2019. I got it in 2022. I had thoughts of canceling the order but didn’t. I have had all kinds of muscle cars in the past, including vettes but this just keep saying, ‘wait’. I did and l love it. I’m 76 going on 77 and l do have a tendency to put it through lts paces. I think that chevrolet did an excellent job on this car. To those waiting, be patient, it’s worth the wait.

  8. Patience is a virtue.
Ordered my C8 Z51 October 2019. Received the car January 2021. Bought from Kerbeck. Paid MSRP. GM Courtesy deliver to Calif, Calif dealer charged me 500 to receive. Built December 28th 2020, received in Calif January 28th 2021.

I have been dreaming of a mid engine ride since I was 15. Have had a few 911’s. I like the C8

I have been waiting for a mid engine Vette since 1971. LOL

  9. I started my journey on May 10th 2022 for my C8 . Got my build date of Oct 3rd . Not to long .This is my 8th Corvette , at 67, most likely my last. Can’t wait….
