Chevrolet dropped a new video late this afternoon for its Z06 Academy Playlist on YouTube and this one focuses on the tech transfer from the Corvette Racing C8.R and the lessons learned by racing America’s favorite sports car.;

The video opens with Corvette Racing driver Tommy Milner who says, “The Z06 is, so far, the closest that I’ve ever seen a real street car get to a race car.

From there, we get a number of members of the racing and engineering teams discussing the tech transfer from track to street, and that all starts with the 5.5-liter LT6R V8 engine that has been powering the C8.R since it was launched in 2020.

It took an exceptional partnership to bring the All-New 2023 Corvette Z06 to the road while also building on the winning tradition of Corvette on the race circuit. Chevy engineers shared data, parts and facilities to ensure the C8.R race car and the production Corvette Z06 are the best they can be. Check out the latest videos in our Corvette Academy series and learn all about the tech transfer that has blurred the line between race car and street car.

  1. Some people are aware that a 1000 Lbs difference exists between the c8R and the c8Z06.
    For the C6 generation the discrepency was 600 Lbs. More over, the C6Z06 could attain 200mph with only 505 crank HP. With pilot sport cup tires the C6Z06 pull more G’s in corners than the C8Z06 can. I am privileged to have owned a C6Z06… The best track car EVER. Lemans Class 1,2 Winner straight out of the box. Case close.
