Corvettes for Sale: Customized 1964 'Split-Window' Corvette is One of a Kind

A Florida exotic-car dealership is offering a 1964 Corvette that reflects the desire of its previous owner to create a one-of-a-kind Sting Ray.

Unique details are everywhere on this car, including eye-catching orange paint accented by tastefully done flames on the hood, in the engine compartment, and even on the door panels.

Though the split window disappeared from stock ’64 models, this one has added it again, along with completely new exterior panels with body-color grille, a bulging hood, and four small C5-reminiscent oval taillights. And the headlights aren’t hidden under rotating panels, by the way – there are no headlights at all! No stock chrome bumpers are in place, either.

Not many details are offered about the history of the car and how it came to be on the website of Prestige Imports, a Miami dealer that also happens to be the largest Lamborghini dealer in North America. Even so, we just know we like the look of the larger tires and wheels and chrome side exhaust pipes.

The interior retains the dual cockpit look of the factory originals, but orange paint is now everywhere, including around the updated instruments in front of the driver, along with a new three-spoke steering wheel. Orange leather seats complete the look.

The engine has also been updated to a 5.7-liter LS6 V8, hooked to a four-speed manual transmission, though we wonder how much time this car will see on a real road. Based on the 250 miles said to have added since the project was completed, we’d say this has a good chance of winding up as a show queen.

Of course, being the only kid on the playground with a toy like this doesn’t come cheaply – the asking price is a whopping $399,950.

Will we see you on the playground soon with this car?

  1. Gorgeous AND unique vehicle!
(The only part that I don’t care too much for is the ducktail rear end.)
I wouldn’t be surprised if the asking price is a “breakeven” figure for this rare beauty . . .
‘Sometimes establishing a price tag for a genuine one-of-a-kind classic like this is incredibly challenging.

  2. Joe, really?? there never was a split window in 64, so how could he ruin a split window?

  3. I could never understand how someone would want to mess with the most iconic generation of Corvettes. Nothing done to that ‘64 coupe is appealing. He should’ve left it as it was meant to be. My opinion!

  4. Hell No !!! I will not pay 1 penny over sticker . GM should do something about this. Themmmm ,,,,themm … jus kiddin L-) HNY 2 All

  5. I remember seeing this Corvette in person at a GAA Classic Car Auction about five years ago. I took several pictures of it. I thought it was totally awesome and I couldn’t quit drooling and looking at it! I could care less if others don’t like it.

  6. Something looks off in the styling to me. Maybe the ducktail is too much. Probably look better if it was lower. And the drivers gauges are way too small. I think they spent a lot of money but missed the mark.

  7. Don’t really care for it. And the price is ridiculous! One would be so much better off buying a mint 1963 restored corvette for half that price.
