The 2022 Corvette IMSA GTLM Championship C8.R Editions were the first special editions in the C8 era to be offered and we’ve been reporting that the car has officially sold all of its 1,000 planned units. The C8.R editions celebrate the championship-winning Corvette Racing C8.Rs which swept the ISMA championships in 2020 with the brand new C8.R mid-engine race car.

Today we learned that there are actually 12 C8.R editions available for sale, but only for those who live in Mexico. Chevrolet Mexico will be marketing the 12 special editions at its 10 Chevrolet Performance stores across the country.

“This special edition super sports car was designed to commemorate the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette C8.R participation in the IMSA competition,” said Carlos de la Mora, Sports and Electric Vehicle Launch Manager.

“Customers who purchase one of the 12 units available in Mexico will be able to experience all the DNA of the vehicle, along with different aesthetic attributes of great value,” he added.

The 12 Corvette C8.R Editons are already in-country with a starting price of $2,912,900 pesos. The Chevrolet Performance Stores are located in Mexico City (3), Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro, Cancun, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, and Culiacán.

Chevrolet sold a total of 149 Corvettes during the 2021 model year in Mexico with the country ranking fourth in C8 exports behind Canada, the Middle East, and Japan.
