BLOGGER BUILDS: The Stevealiscious Z06 is a Warm Hug for your Eyes

The ole Detroit Bureau is here with my Stevealiscious Z06 build. Ever since I placed my deposit on a 2022 Stingray last month, I must admit that I’ve spent quite a bit of an unhealthy amount of time using that configurator. So, now that the Z06 is live, this Blogger Bluids series is the last thing I needed. No worries, though, as I’m up to the challenge!

I started by choosing the coupe body style. Mainly because I’ve never really understood the difference between the C8 coupe and convertible and also to show off that 670hp LT6. What’s the point of having the most powerful naturally aspirated engine of all time if you can’t show it off? I elected to forego the Z07 package as I suspect about 90% of these cars will never turn a single lap on a race track. I know I’ll spend more time in rush hour traffic than on the backstretch of a track.

My Z06 coupe is wearing Arctic White which is complemented by a slew of carbon fiber. While I didn’t select Z07, I did select the Carbon Ceramic brakes with yellow calipers. The massive 345 tires wrap the optional Tech Bronze wheels.

Walk with me, now, on our carbon fibery tour around my C8 Z06. Our first stop is at the carbon fiber mirrors. Then we pass by the carbon fiber ground effects on our way over to the carbon fiber grille inserts. Our final stop is out back to admire the carbon fiber engine cover. The badges and rear spoiler aren’t carbon fiber, but they are carbon flash and that’s close enough for me. Chrome exhaust tips are the perfect shiny antithesis to all that carbon fiber darkness.

Inside, I went with the top-dog 3LZ package. I’ve got Alex’s back by selecting the mandatory tension blue interior hue with GT2 seats. I’ve been obsessed with the blue interior since its debut on the 2017 Grand Sport. Oh, and we can’t forget the level 2 interior carbon fiber package.

When I saw the first Z06 teaser photo a couple weeks ago, I immediately had visions of the McLaren GT – a stupid fast, long-distance GT cruiser that can also make you toss your lunch on the track. So, that’s where I ended up going with this build. I don’t need the Z07 package and boy-racer wing, plus the competition sport seats probably wouldn’t pass muster on the long ride from here down to Daytona.

So, there’s my Z06 build. I think it’s a great mix of long-distance cruiser and track weapon should I ever get that bug. Let me know your thoughts in the Comments section below.

  1. Gorgeous! great colors combo! I would pass on the ceramic brakes, if your Vette is not visiting the track.

  2. I love this! It’s all so unexpected yet somehow beautiful (though I think it’s kind of hard to make an ugly one when you’re starting with this supermodel!)! I was admiring the Tech Bronze wheels yesterday when I spent too much time playing with the visualizer and I couldn’t wrap my brain around a combo that would make them look right, but you did! Awesome!

  3. Gorgeous…Artic white is the perfect choice. My wife really likes the blue interior but I can’t take my eyes off the red inside! Too much red???
Red and white go soooo good together…oh, and also a great choice on wheels!

  4. Great spec but would add blacked out interior trim and tail pipes. Mine will be exact same but Elkhart Lake blue steel brakes and body color exterior pieces.
