BLOGGER BUILDS: Top-Down Happiness with the Standard 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible


When Alex suggested his idea that all of us Corvette Bloggers should spec out a C8 Corvette Z06 on the new visualizer, I figured this would be a fun exercise. After all, we already going to waste spend our time playing with it anyway, why not make it into something more. Plus, it gives you guys a bit of insight into our personalities and tastes when outfitting a new Corvette.

Each day the visualizer appears to be adding more content. But it’s still buggy as hell. As I was building my car, I got a message from Jeremy Welborn that he couldn’t even get Torch Red on a car, but I could. Now, a couple hours after I made my selections, I see that some choices are missing again. So if you run into issues, just keep coming back later and trying again. Now on to my build!

My disclaimer for this build is that I generally like to play with the new colors or options when they first come out, which is what I did here. If I was seriously building a car for myself, I would go back to what I really like. However, I did choose the love of my life which is the convertible model, and started from there.

So with the Convertible model chosen, I then selected the 3LZ interior trim package specifically so I could pick up the new fully-dipped Adrenaline Red interior, and then I was going to build my car around that.

Now the hard part. I played with the obvious exterior choices like Arctic White, Black, and Ceramic Matrix Gray to combo up with the dipped Red interior and I even thought about going BOLD with Elkhart Lake Blue with the idea of “Grand Sporting” the Z06, but that just seemed wrong. In the end, I selected the new-for-2022 Hypersonic Gray which I think is a solid all-around color. Also under the Exteriors tab were the roof options and I selected the Black nacelles only.

Next up is wheels and I selected the Machine Face forged aluminum wheels as they are the brightest offered and I paired them with Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Edge Red Brake Calipers. As I went with bright wheels, I circled back to Exteriors to make sure I had the Chrome badges selected. These will look great with the new Chrome exhaust tips as well.

Finishing up, I selected GT2 seats and also picked up the Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Package. I decided to keep the seat belts black as it adds some contrast to the dipped Red interior. I opted to stay with the Standard Z06 over the Z07 Performance Package as I like the looks of the rear low-profile spoiler and don’t really plan on tracking the car.

So there you have it, my build for the 2023 Corvette Z06 at least for now. When ordering does open up next year, we are sure to have at least 2-3 new colors to choose from so it will be back to the visualizer once again for another time-wasting exercise that is oh so much fun!

  1. I love it! I never thought about gray with red, but it really pops. So why not bright red calipers instead of edge red? Love your wheel choice too! That is really of the best factory wheels I’ve seen in a while.

  3. What I want is the Adrenaline Red Dipped interior available on the base 3LT. Paired with a black exterior: HEAVEN! Please, please GM!

  4. That was my exact color combo thought as I rolled up to the dealership to drop off my deposit on Tuesday! I have the adrenaline in my arctic white C7Z and it is a beautiful interior and contrast on the white. Keeping my C7Z but looking forward to the C8! That red dipped is very consuming, and I love the new wheels you chose. I will likely also opt for the 06 package, as it better suits my needs. She’s a beaut, Clarke!

  5. Based on the visualizer it doesn’t look like body coloured exterior trim will be an option for Z06s.
