BLOGGER BUILDS: Jeremy’s Ultimate 2023 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 Performance Package

Having attended the 2023 Z06 reveal event at the Petersen Museum earlier this week, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how I would configure my build of the ultimate Z06. I’m blown away by the performance capabilities of both the Z06 and the Z07 packaged version, but if I’m going to build my dream Z06 the potential cost of the build is inconsequential. That said, let’s dive into my build.

For starters, I added the Z07 package with the carbon fiber exterior aero pieces – front splitter, side skirts, and rear wing–as well as the carbon fiber mirror covers and carbon fiber grill inserts. To complement these carbon fiber pieces and to provide increased performance capabilities, the carbon fiber wheels that reduce unsprung weight by 41 pounds are a must-have. My guess is that these will add anywhere from $7,000 to $15,000 to the final build, but it’s just money, right?

With the performance elements covered, it’s time to make a statement with the exterior and interior color combination. The 2023 Z06 is, for all practical purposes, an exotic street-legal race car. As such, I want my build to scream, “Let’s race…if you dare!” For this reason, I’ve selected Torch Red as my exterior color choice accented by red calipers, the carbon flash stripe package, and black exhaust tips. I debated the optional exposed carbon fiber top but decided to leave it off the list so that the stripe option looks consistent from front to rear.

The interior has to be as bold as the exterior and, for the first time since the C5, a predominantly red interior is once again available for 2023. With a new Level 2 Carbon Fiber interior option available, along with the new Stealth Interior Trim Package, the Adrenaline Red Dipped Interior can be customized to break the red up in a way that compliments my exterior choices. Of course, all of this necessitates the 3LZ trim option with the finest interior materials that Corvette offers. The GT2 seats are my pick since my backside has spent almost 20,000 miles in the GT2 seat to date and enjoy them in both track and long drive situations.

You’ve probably already noticed, but my ultimate Z06 build body choice is the coupe for the purpose of track usage and being able to show off the crown jewel LT6 under the rear hatch glass. And to showcase the LT6 powerplant that will launch my Z06 like a rocketship, I added the carbon fiber engine cover and engine appearance package with LED lights.

To me, there’s really only one problem with my 2023 Z06/Z07 build…I won’t be able to have it in my garage for at least another 10-12 months. Until then, I’ll just keep dreaming and drooling!
