Chevy isn’t the only company striving to pull even better performance numbers from the already impressive C8 Stingray.

The talk of the past week, of course, has been the forthcoming 2023 Z06 that will deliver 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque with its revolutionary naturally aspirated flat-plane crank LT6 engine that impressively redlines at 8600 RPM.

However, longtime tuner Lingenfelter is teasing enthusiasts with even better numbers out of a regular Stingray in a recent YouTube video.

Lingenfelter says it has been working for more than a year on its own improvements to the Stingray’s stock LT2 V8 that already pumps out 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Their new system will apparently be shown to the world at the upcoming SEMA Show that runs Tuesday through Friday in Las Vegas.

In the past year, Lingenfelter has already unveiled several bolt-ons that squeeze more horses and torque out of the LT2 – with its Performance Design pTR carbon intake manifold good for 19 horsepower, the 95mm throttle body for 25 horsepower more, and the Extreme-S Exhaust for another 19 wheel-horsepower and 15 wheel-lb-ft of torque.

To get it done, Lingenfelter apparently has joined with Magnuson Superchargers and is teasing a supercharged system that will raise output to 705 horsepower and 667 lb-ft of torque – numbers that beat the forthcoming factory Z06 considerably.

Which would you rather have?

  1. Wonder what the Max HP will be when people get their hands on the new Z06 and put a different cam and twin turbos on it ?????

  2. Agree with Jeff. If I needed more than 495hp (which I would, lol), I would go with the Z06. Many other things are different and the price would probably be close and the Z06 would always be worth more. Zoom Zoom.
