Indiana Man Stumbles Across His Dad’s Old Corvette For Sale and Brings It Back Home

You CAN go home again, at least if you happen to be this 1993 Corvette.

It’s been a decade since Josh Hudgens’ dad decided to sell his 1993 40th anniversary Corvette because he felt he just wasn’t driving it enough.

“Like all Corvettes or older cars, especially in Northwest Indiana, they all don’t get driven. Dad decided to sell it,” Hudgens says.

While he had the car, however, his dad did drive it enough, however, to impress Josh, then 16 years old.

“Riding with dad, we would go out to eat,” Josh recalls. “We would cruise around the backroads, always going the speed limits of course, but I fell in love with the car ever since then.”

When he recently was looking for a car to cruise around his hometown of Argos, Indiana, Josh decided to look for a car like his dad’s Corvette.

“My wife and I, we enjoy cruising around. I have a Ford Focus which isn’t exactly the best cruising car. So I’ve had the itch to have something to cruise around with for a while. I wanted something similar to what my dad had,” Hudgens said.

Little did he know what a magical moment was awaiting him.

“I was scrolling through Facebook Marketplace and I seen one that looked just like his,” Hudgens said.

There was a very good reason for the similarity.

“The VIN number was the exact VIN number of the car that my dad sold 10 years ago that I completely found on accident on Facebook 10 years later,” Hudgens says.

Josh knew he just had to complete the deal once he learned that twist of fate.

“It was tough to channel my inner Mark Cuban and negotiate at that point,” Hudgens admits, “but I had to have it.”

Once the sale was official, Josh picked up the phone and called his dad with the great news.

“He is very happy that it’s back in family and I think, we believe, back where it belongs,” Hudgens says.
