Late last week we learned that GM had taken a pre-production 2022 Corvette Stingray in the new Amplify Orange exterior to a Bowling Green mall on Thursday for a local job fair. It was the first time the new Orange has been shown on a completed Corvette in public, and now we have some additional photos thanks to our friends at the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com.
MECF member Craig Marcho is a professional photographer who goes by the handle “Marcho Polo.” He just happens to be in Bowling Green where he’ll soon get his very own C8 Corvette via an R8C delivery across the street at the National Corvette Museum. As he was checking out the Corvette Assembly Plant, he spied the Amplify Orange Corvette parked in the administration parking lot next to plant director Kia Spande’s reserved space and managed to grab a few shots of the new color.
To confirm this was the new ’22 Amplify Orange, Marcho also grabbed a photo of the VIN and you can see the “N50” just prior to the sequence number “034” that tells us this is a pre-production 2022. Once the regular customer-ordered cars begin, the VIN will change to “N51”:

The outside conditions for the photo appear to be somewhat flat, but because there is no metallic in the paint, I would think these are a good representation of how it looks in person. Craig first took photos of the color with his iPhone and then ran back to his hotel to get his professional DSLR. I ordered them here with the first six photos from his Canon DSLR which he experimented with shooting both with a polarizer and without. The rest were done with his iPhone. It’s really hard to capture the color. I left the editing alone other than taking out shadows to see detail better. The Canon pics show a richer color than the iPhone, I think. And if I had to say which ones look more accurate in person, I would say the color is really somewhere between the iPhone and the Canon pics… but closer to the Canon.

Sebring Orange for the win! Def prefer the metallic.
Same old colors nothing new .
Atomic Orange is the best Orange applied to a Corvette…IMHO.
It’s a Corvette, I’ll take any one, but it does remind me of a dreamsicle (frozen orange popsicle), Sebring Orange was impressive.
Not impressed. Makes car look cheap to me. Would prefer Desert Sunrise Orange Metallic.
Sebring Orange was better. Monaco Orange was the best in my opinion.
I would have to see it in person, but for now, Yuk!
Looks a like a washed out pumpkin color. If the color is what the close up on the side mirror is, then I approve.
I wish they would bring back the Daytona Sunset/Sunrise Metallic Oranges
It reminds me of my ’72 in Ontario Orange which I uncreatively named Pumpkin. 🙂
The first orange for the C-8 had metallic in it and was BEAUTIFUL! This one is flat.
