[VIDEO] C8 Corvette Chased by Police SUV is Actually a Promotion to Sell Aftermarket Wheels

Be aware, the suspect is armed and extremely dangerous.

That’s the message playing in the background of this new YouTube video that offers up one videographer’s idea of what a police chase involving a suspect in a mid-engine Arctic White Corvette might look like, with the not so subliminal goal of selling C8 owners a new set of Rohana wheels in the process.

We’re not particularly a big fan of gold rims, but that’s one of the things that makes Corvettes so special. Owners are free to customize their cars any way they see fit, and this video hopes you’ll be enticed enough by the intriguing police chase of a C8 Stingray to stop and notice the wheels.

Not that you have much choice but to notice the wheels since the vast majority of the video shows the Corvette – and its wheels – in a variety of up-close and far-off shots, with no police car in sight.

No doubt, that would likely be the way it would be in real life, should a C8 owner decide to foolishly run from the long arm of the law. With the 495 horsepower and 194 mph top speed of the Corvette, the 300 horsepower and top speed of 150 mph of the Ford Explorer police cruiser wouldn’t stand much of a chance.

So perhaps we should all just play nice and the C8 driver should just pull over and let the police officer admire his shiny new rims while he writes him a ticket. (On the other hand, we did notice that the driver is only doing 55 and 59 mph, so he doesn’t seem to be speeding.) We do think they add some “oomph” to the Arctic White, and what about that cool stance after the car is lowered automatically with an air suspension? Also, are the brake calipers and interior ORANGE, or is my computer screen whacked out?

By the way, based on a visit to rohanawheels.com, these Corvette wheels seem to be RFG13s, which are available in custom finishes in sizes from 19 to 24 inches and widths up to 13.5 inches and even with custom bolt patterns. We couldn’t find a price, which probably means if you have to ask, maybe you need to stick with stock wheels.

What’s your opinion? Would you put these wheels on your C8?

  1. Ok I am going to upset the apple cart, I like gold rims. I think it would have looked better if the carbon flash body parts were paint all white. But on a dark blue or gray car, gold wheels would really set the car off very well.

  2. Nice, but no. Not on a sports car. Ricers? Yup. Extreme camber cars? Definitely. Big BMWs, Mercs, and Rolls? Certainly.
