The 5VM Visible Carbon Fiber Aero Kit is Available Again Through Chevrolet Accessories

Hallelujah, hallelujah!

After being stripped from all 2020 orders way back in January 2020 due to supplier issues, the C8 Corvette’s carbon fiber aero kit is making its long-awaited return where you can find it for sale on the Corvette Accessories Page at Chevrolet.com.

Officially known as the 5VM Visible Carbon Fiber Aero Kit, the three-piece set consists of a front splitter and two rocker panels. It’s priced at $4,695 and can be shipped for free to your local Chevrolet parts department.

While still not available when placing new orders, you can now order the set and have it sent to your Chevrolet dealer where it can be installed during the PDI process and ready and waiting when you take delivery of your new Corvette. Check with your dealer in advance regarding any extra fees for installation.

I wasn’t quite sure of these when they first appeared, and because they were stripped so early, you never see them in person. Since then I’ve done a 180 on them and really like the aggressive looks the aero kit provides.

As we mentioned last week in regards to those of you who had the 5VM stripped from your 2020 orders, you were supposed to receive a 25% off coupon for purchases through Chevy’s Accessories page. That offer expires on July 31, 2021, so make sure you take advantage of that. FYI, a reader informs us that the max discount allowed with the coupon is $500.

Carbon Flash High Wing Returns

Speaking of new accessories, or those returning, we now see that the High Wing in Carbon Flash is back in stock at Chevrolet Accessories as well. That makes the High Wing available in five colors that also include Arctic White, Torch Red, Shadow Gray, and Black. All are priced at $995 and free shipping is available to your dealer.

Stingray R Wheel Center Caps

I got wind of these new center caps featuring the Stingray R logo from our friend Rick Conti who mentioned them the other day on his Facebook page. Like Rick, I was hoping the Stingray R was going to be a full-blown special edition model but instead it’s just a sticker package. For those that do order the Stingray R package with your new car, these new center caps would make a nice addition. Priced at $50 per wheel.
