LaCorvette: Digital Artist Faceswaps the C8 Corvette's Nose on the LaFerrari Hypercar

With Chevy making the switch to a mid-engine layout for the new C8 Corvette, it’s only natural that casual observers might confuse the new Stingray for what many consider the quintessential such sports car, a LaFerrari.

A talented artist at superrendercars decided to have a little fun by grafting a C8 front end on a Ferrari LaFerrari, producing a LaCorvette, so to speak.

While the rendering does prove more than a passing resemblance between the two cars, we’re inclined to believe that the new Corvette looks better in its original form as intended by the good folks at Chevy, as opposed to the artist’s vision combining the two cars.

Of course, just to be considered in the same breath as the highly touted LaFerrari is quite a compliment for the first mid-engine production Corvette ever.

After all, in December 2016, a LaFerrari, one of the 499 ever built, garnered $7 million at an auction to become “the most valuable 21st-century automobile ever sold at auction,” according to the automotive press. The next year, the last unit of LaFerrari Aperta went for even more at auction – $10 million!

With a top speed of 220 mph, thanks to its massive V12 engine hooked to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, with revolutionary hybrid technology, it’s no wonder that the LaFerrari is so widely respected in the automotive world and would command such exorbitant money at auction.

But the strong resemblance between the LaFerrari and the Corvette really makes us appreciate the much, much lower price of the Chevy!

So, do you like the original stock LaFerrari or the Corvette-ized version? Or maybe the 2020 Corvette?
