Corvettes on Craigslist: 2000 Corvette Convertible with 5589 Original Miles

You might want to forgive the seller of this 2000 Corvette convertible for using so many exclamation marks to describe the car.

We counted no less than 94 exclamation marks in the lengthy description of this Corvette that’s up for sale on Craig’s List out of the Fort Myers, Florida area.

But take one look at the extensive photos of the car, including one of the totally immaculate undercarriage, and you might reach the same conclusion we did: This might be the nicest 2000 Corvette in existence!!! (Sorry about that extra punctuation, but it’s hard to resist.)

Featuring “All Original Paint!!!” in Torch Red with a white top over a totally immaculate red interior, this beautiful Corvette has covered just 5,589 miles over the past 20 years and needless to say has never been driven in the rain. It’s always been kept under cover and has been stored in a climate-controlled collector garage with multiple collector cars, all on lifts. “The car runs and drives like new. Everything works perfect. The Motor and Trans and Drivetrain are perfect. Everything in the car works perfectly,” the seller says.

“This Corvette Belongs in a Museum!” he boasts. “You Might Never See One Like This Again in Your Lifetime!”

With an original MSRP of $51,204, it has nearly $5,300 worth of options, including polished aluminum wheels, 6-speed manual transmission, adjustable sport bucket seats, 12-disc CD changer, active handling system, head-up display, electronic dual-zone air conditioning, power telescoping and manual tilt steering column, six-way power passenger seat, memory package, bodyside moldings, and fog lamps.

If you’re worried about tire rot due to lack of use, the car is said to have $1,400 worth of brand-new Michelin run-flat tires over the factory wheels that are also described as “Like Brand New!!!” A brand-new custom Borla exhaust costing more than $1,200 has also been installed!!!

The car is owned by a non-smoking elderly adult, and the seller points out that “The Owner Followed Me When I was Looking at It with Wax and a Super Soft Cloth and Waxed Anything I Touched!!!”

Adds the seller: “Look at the Brakes and rotors and calipers. That is what it looked like when we picked it up, spotless. We didn’t even have to wash or vacuum it!!!”

Included with the sale is extensive paperwork, including the original owner’s manual and original window sticker.

Now comes the part where the rubber meets the road. How much would you be willing to pay for possibly The Nicest 2000 Corvette in Existence?

The asking price is a whopping $31,750 – well over the market value, for sure, but then again, the owner IS taking a $20,000 loss over the original MSRP for what is essentially a brand-new Corvette!!!

A few parting comments from the seller: “You will Love this Corvette!!! Life is Short! Enjoy Yourself! Wake up to This in Your Garage!”

  1. I have the same car with black interior and 54,000 and mine is just as immaculate as that one and has a blackconvertible top.I would never pay $31,000 for a 2000,just saying.

  2. Great cars! Just watch the electronics on these C5’S because they always go bad. ABS modules, the climate control unit, and the hazard/turn signals are common problems with these cars.

  3. Very nice, that’s the way to buy them. Big money though, but if your intentions are to keep it and not worry about trade in values or any of that crap it may be worth paying very high retail. I had a 97′ Torch Red C5 with 40k on it and it was beautiful but damn this one is really nice. They don’t like to sit so you have to be a little careful. And just because he “wants” 31k does not mean he will get it. I just bought a 2001 Grand Sport with 12k on it, still smells like new. Love it.
