Like many of you, I’ve loved Corvettes since I was just in single digits age-wise. But what if instead of growing up to be 6-foot-3, I had kept growing …. and growing … and growing?

That’s the dilemma Oliver Richters, aka The Dutch Giant, faces whenever it comes to choosing a car.

At a whopping 7-foot-2 and 342 pounds, Richters is billed as the world’s tallest actor and bodybuilder.

He recently took his YouTube fans on his journey to Germany to find out if he could actually fit in some of his dream cars, but first he had to down a breakfast of eight eggs washed down by a mixture of 150 grams of cooked shredded oats!

You’d think Richters could fit in just about any car, despite his huge size, when he comes pulling up to open the video in a tiny Toyota Aygo!

“That’s absolutely amazing,” he says, “because [in] 99 percent of the cars I’m stuck against the steering wheel or the dashboard is in the way or my head is against the roof. This [Toyota] has everything to fit in as a giant, but this is of course not my dream car.”

His list of actual dream cars is probably topped by a Ford Mustang GT, though he also has his eye on a Cadillac CTS-V and a C7 Corvette.

He first tries out a white Mustang GT coupe but is unable to reach the pedal because his right leg is stuck. A convertible Mustang offers better head room, and while he could drive it, it’s obviously not the best choice.

“Height comes with advantages and disadvantages,” he philosophizes. “This is one of the disadvantages.”

Next up is a 2017 Cadillac CTS-V with 650 horsepower, and Richters says he’s actually more impressed with the car in person than on YouTube videos.

As he climbs into the Caddy, he says, “Well, it’s not bad. I have to say I fit! This is quite amazing. My knees are totally fine; that’s really unique. I fit in so many cars, normally my knees are against the steering wheel. I’m really happy with this.”

Ecstatic that he had actually found a car with gobs of horsepower that he fits in, Richters takes the car for a 20-minute drive around the city.

“I’m not used to this kind of power,” he says at one point. “It feels so classy or something – it’s hard to describe. It’s so comfortable.”

As he climbs out of the car, Richters says, “Wow … amazing feeling … what a car.”

But coming back to reality, he quickly points out that he never makes a decision in one day, preferring to sleep on it for several days before taking the plunge.

Next stop is a C7 Corvette convertible, but alas, we’re heartbroken to report that Richters can’t even get his right knee on the right side of the steering wheel.

“So some dream cars just have to fade away,” he says.

Similar results awaited The Dutch Giant when he tries Polestar 1 and 2 versions as well as a Maserati Ghibli.

So which car did he end up buying? Well, as they say on TV, stay tuned. He apparently is still trying to make up his mind, and we’ll keep you posted whenever we hear.

  1. YA…Even 6-2 is too big for a C7.. its a car for little old ladies and kids…Auto designers are small people who dont know who their customers are..

  2. Dennis, 6’7 265 pounds and I can fit in my C5, C6, and C7 comfortably so you are incorrect!

  3. Overall height isn’t the only factor that needs to be considered. Torso length and leg length are important components of height. I am 6 ft 2 in and I never have had legroom problems in most cars. But my head almost always touches the ceiling in many cars. Fortunately for me, it works out so that there is adequate head room and legroom for me in my C7.

  4. Lack of leg room exists in pretty much any car you drive. But Corvettes don’t have short leg wells. Plus the seats do go back far enough to accommodate taller drivers.
