[SPIED] Camouflaged C8 Corvette Prototype Driving in Toronto

Thanks to a Toronto Car Spotting page on Facebook, we are getting a look at a prototype C8 Corvette that’s been spied in the area. One photo shows a Corvette prototype in a parking lot while another user posted a video of a camouflaged Corvette driving down the highway last Friday night. Whether of not they are the same C8 is undetermined.

The prototype from the nighttime video below initially sparked a lot conversation on the Corvette Forum as some users see a widebody while others are saying its just the standard Stingray body which is the camp I find myself in at the moment.

The prototype shown here features a Corvette without a spoiler, but unlike previous sightings of the C8 Corvette Z06s, the wheels and brakes are exposed.

Looking at the still image from the video above, it does make you wonder if something is going on there with the rear fascia right above the exhaust ports as it doesn’t quite appear to be normal. But that could just be the camo pattern and light playing tricks with our eyes.

The camouflaged prototypes have been previously spotted with cables and other testing equipment that was exposed through the body, but again, we can’t quite make anything out that would say this car could be the hybrid prototypes

The important take of these sightings is that prototype testing of the C8 Corvettes is back on which comes as welcome news as many aspects of development testing were shutdown with the coronavirus pandemic.

  1. That Corvette in the top picture in the parking lot shows a definite full length side vent behind the front wheel well, the wide bulge @ the side air intake, thev wider tires, and the same spoiler that is shown in the GM Authority linked article in the 1st post in this Corvette Blogger edition.
