Reward Offered for Identifying the Thieves Who Broke Into a 2020 Corvette

The 2020 Corvette is a pretty brazen target for thieves to hit, but it didn’t stop these two “scumbags” in Houston from shattering the window of a Sebring Orange 2020 Corvette Stingray in Houston, Texas last week. Whether their goal was to steal the car or just do a smash and grab of the contents, they came up empty in the attempt.

The break-in happened last weekend in the Chinatown area of Houston off of Bellaire Boulevard and a security camera captured the incident. Now the owner is reportedly offering a “$1000 cash on the spot award” to anyone who can identify the thieves.

The video features audio and you can hear the moment the passenger window is shattered and as the thief makes his way inside, the Stingray’s alarm activates and the horn starts beeping. The thief quickly jumps through the back window for before his partner takes off in a Black Buick LaCrosse. The video was posted to Facebook by a friend of the car’s owner:

From Nauman Razzak via Facebook:

$1000 CASH ON THE SPOT AWARD TO ANYONE WHO IDENTIFIES THESE SCUMBAGS AND IT LEADS TO THEIR ARREST. Location of incident Bellaire Blvd, Houston TX Chinatown area.

These low lifes broke into a completely empty BRAND NEW 2020 Corvette for NOTHING!!! $5K plus in damages.

$250 to you if the lead comes from your reshare. You can directly message me here

The thief that was visible on the video was covered with a hoodie, mask and white gloves so unless they were able to capture the license plate or some other visual clue like those red basketball shoes, we think identifying these two will be difficult.

  1. I would just love to throw those two useless pieces of human puke into a wood chipper feet first…. even that’s to good for them!

  2. I’m really glad that Houston Corvette and Friend posted this. I’m not sure if it is the same thing, but on my house, I have every window covered with a sort of anti-theft film that is transparent and also is offered in different shades of tinting. (Never leave anything of value in your car. It is called Armor Coat. It works on cars as well as houses. The company’s demonstrations show people attempting to use guns and baseball bats to break through the windows protected with this this polymer coating. While they are able to break the window, the window doesn’t collapse. With the film attached, it continues to resist the attack with tolls, hammers, bats and even a gun. Even if a bullet gets through and leaves a hole, the area around the hole will not let go and still makes it impossible for the burglar to get through. On average, it takes over 20 minutes of beating on it, cutting it, etc. before anyone can get through it. By this time, the police should be following the alarm sound or On Star might warn the owner or after market device might warn the police. This piece of advice might be more important than other anti-theft tips.

  3. In broad-friggen-daylight, another case in point why I freakin HATE people!!! Probably Trump supporters, scum bags.

  4. Kevin, I and many of my family, friends, neighbors and co-workers are President Trump supporters and we
I assure you are not scum bags. I believe one of the major problems we have in this country and society in general is with people who profess HATE. Keith should consider editing this column to focus on automotive content and leave the HATE and vulgarity in the circular file.
