[VIDEO] First Drive in the 2020 Corvette Stingray with Drive 615

It’s fun when we get two great friends together who share a love for Corvettes! We’ve been talking about our friend and CorvetteBlogger contributor Jeremy Welborn who picked up his new 2020 Corvette at the National Corvette Museum this week. I suggested that he might want to get with our other friend Byron Glover Jr of the Drive 615 YouTube Channel who has previously captured some stunning videos of the new Corvettes.

This next video from Drive 615 is the culmination of that meeting…

Byron is based in the Nashville area and that’s where the fun takes place. Jeremy is the proud papa and gives a great rundown of the car and its unique color combination. He tells the story that this year he turns 50 and shares the car’s VIN which is also #050!

After a drive through the surrounding area, Byron gets his shot behind the squircle-shaped steering wheel and his excitement at finally driving the 2020 Corvette is evident. There is an Arctic White C7 Z06 in Byron’s garage and so right away he is impressed with the differences in the cars like the downward view that is offered in the mid-engine. As the car is still in its break-in period, Byron was light on the throttle but we still get to hear some great exhaust notes from the mid-ship LT2 V8.

Byron takes Jeremy and the new “center of attention” down to the riverfront that features the Nashville skyline in the background. Later B-roll footage is edited in and as the two are discussing the mid-engine sports car, we see some great shots of the 2020 Corvette Stingray running on the dark streets once the sun heads down.

As always, Byron at Drive 615 does a great job for showcasing the 2020 Corvette and we know that the only complaint from the YouTuber was that unfortunately, his first drive of the C8 would eventually come to an end. But thanks to the internet, it will live on forever!

From Byron Glover Jr aka Drive 615 on YouTube:

My first drive in a 2020 Corvette C8 Z51 was surreal! My friend Jeremy Welborn drove down his Sebring Orange C8 Z51 3LT from Bowling Green Kentucky to visit me in Nashville after taking delivery of his 2020 Mid-Engine Chevrolet C8 Corvette at the National Corvette Museum. We took a look around the car, he took me for a spin, then he handed over the keys and we were off!

My last video was a compilation of my 2020 Corvette C8 exhaust clips and an accelerate yellow C8. How do you guys think the exhaust of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 sounds? I can’t wait to see and hear a 2020 C8 Z06.

  1. Thought the video was going to explain why Jeremy chose that rather unusual color combination.

  2. Absolutely the best color combination I have seen so far on the C8’s. This car is so very stunning. I didn’t know you could override the Tension Blue interior color combination with the Orange seat belt option. Was this something that Chevrolet did especially for you Jeremy? Anyway a very nice touch. Good Job Sir! I had one of the very few 2009 ZR-1’s in Atomic Orange Metallic and got it because of the way I thought that color would contrast with the Blue calipers & Blue supercharger cover caused the clear window to have a blue hue. I have been enamored with the Tension blue interior since it was introduced in the 2017 GS Collectors Edition but for some reason never thought to combine it with the Sebring Orange available on the C8’s. Chevrolet take note we now need a “Blue” caliper option as well. “WOWZER” Jeremy!!!

  3. Jon Wheelis, originally, only blue seat belts came with the two-one blue interior. A few weeks after my order went in, a change request was processed that allowed any seat belt option in the two-tone blue interior. Thanks for your comments! I’m glad you like it! And yes, a blue caliper option would be pretty cool!
