[VIDEO] The 2020 NCRS Winter Regional and the Carlisle Winter AutoFest

Last Saturday we attended the NCRS Winter Regional held in conjunction with Carlisle Winter AutoFest on the grounds of Sun and Fun in Lakeland, Florida. Although temps were cool in the morning, Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day with a bright Florida sun gleaming on all those beautiful Corvettes and other great cars.

Since joining up with Carlisle’s Winter AutoFest, the NCRS Winter Regional has received the shot in the arm that it has been needing since moving from Old Town in Kissimmee. The addition of the auto auction, as well as the inclusion of the other marques like Mustang and Mopar, gives attendees a reason for coming out and making a day off it.

Carlisle had a special show field for Corvettes and there were multiple rows of filled with America’s sports car as the event photos show. It was great seeing the clubs out in force with our friends at the Grand Sport Registry and the Solid Axle Corvette Club set up with tents and a place for owners to get out of the sun.

We ran into Lance Miller just as we were walking in and he made me a celebrity judge for the show field. I picked this Black/Red 1965 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible and left my info. You can see more of the car in the video below.

We know a lot of former vendors who used to come down for the show when it was at Old Town and you may have reason to come back based next year as attendance for the show continues to grow. Carlisle Events says that nearly 300 vendors occupied over 1000 spaces for selling parts and classic restoration services, collectibles, and automobilia.

A big draw for the weekend was Carlisle Auction’s two-day sale. As we were there on Saturday, we watched “Corvette Hour” that featured a nice selection of classics and later model cars. Over 400 classic and collector cars went through the auction with the top seller being a 2005 Ford GT that sold for $256,800.

I really enjoy this show and am so glad to see it doing well. We are already looking forward to next year’s event and hopefully, we’ll see you there!
