So far, just about every new 2017 Corvette Grand Sport we’ve seen has had a stage two or stage three aerodynamics package. But today as select members of the Corvette team have picked up their individual 2017 captured test fleet cars from the factory, we came across one of the new Grand Sport coupes in base form.
This Grand Sport Coupe is painted in Torch Red with the Z15 Heritage package which features the White stripe and hood grill with Black hash marks.
The Grand Sport features a small black spoiler without winglets as well as black painted rocker panels. The rocker is molder to follow the contours of the Grand Sport’s front fascia:
Unlike the Z06-style rockers, the shorter black painted rocker panels taper to the back of the door before the rear quarter panel kicks out for the rear brake air inlet vents.
The rear spoiler is similar to the base Z06 spoiler. The Heritage Package racing strip extends from the bottom of the rear hatch glass to the top of the black painted spoiler:
For the guy or gal who may be on a budget or the Corvette enthusiast that doesn’t require the more racy aerodynamics but wants the widebody style, the base Corvette Grand Sport with the base aerodynamics package may be the way to go for a great looking sports car without breaking the bank.
We don’t know at this time what the Corvette Grand Sport will MSRP as but we are hearing that figure will be revealed Friday morning during the annual new model year introduction.
