Italian Tuner Romeo Ferraris Mods the Corvette Z06

Italian tuner Romeo Ferraris can usually be found tuning Alfa Romeo Mito’s or the Mercedes C63 AMG but that doesn’t mean they don’t have Corvettes on the brain. Last week they unveiled a new package for the American-made Chevrolet Corvette Z06 which boosts the horsepower to levels greater than the ZR1.

The Italian-tuned Z06 package starts with the 7.0 liter V8 engine which comes standard at 505 hp. To get to the new target of 670 horsepower, the LS7 engine gets a host of performance parts starting with a vortex supercharger. Also added is an air-to-air aluminum intercooler, blow-off valve, high-capacity fuel pump, high-flow injectors, a new exhaust system as well as a ECU update.

With the changes under the hood, the Z06 runs 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and 124 mph in just under 10 seconds. Top speed is estimated to be 211 mph.

All that power puts a great emphasis on stopping and so the package addresses that need with bigger 380mm six-piston caliper brakes up from and 345mm four-piston calipers at the rear. The Z06 also gets new alloy wheels with 19-inch rims on the front and 20-inch rims on the back.

Inside the Z06, Romeo Ferraris rids the Corvette of plastic trim in favor of leather touches and the standard steering wheel is ditched in favor of a European styled “Commando” sport wheel. Recaro Sportster seats replace the standard seats.

At this time, pricing for the Z06-RF package has yet to be announced.
