In the horsepower wars of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, few names carry more weight than Joel Rosen and his Motion Performance brand. Through his partnership with Baldwin Chevrolet, power hungry gearheads could purchase a brand new Chevrolet and immediately send it down the street for a steroid infusion. If you already had your own muscle car, that was fine too. Just order up some catalog Motion go-fast parts and build your own killer street machine. Each Motion-modified machine came with an 11-second guarantee meaning that with a proper driver, Rosen would guarantee that your super car would run 11’s at the local drag strip.

Balwin-Motion cars were built in very low volumes over the course of their partnership. Given their rarity and bonkers performance, they’ve become highly sought after collectables in the 50+ years since they first appeared.

One of the best Baldwin-Motion Collections on the planet is headed to Mecum Kissimmee 2027 in just a few months. In the video below, collector Dan McMichael talks to Mecum’s Bill Stephens about his extensive group of Baldwin Motion masterpieces. He’s been the custodian of the collection for 25 years now and it’s time for the cars to have new caretakers.

The collection is a mix of GM’s best. It consists of six Corvettes and three Camaros. The Camaros range from a mean 1973 Baldwin-Motion Phase III Camaro to a special 1983 Motion IROC-Z prototype, and even a 1971 Z28 in stock form.

The Corvette roster is second to none and will have you drooling as you read on. Here’s a quick look at each Corvette from the McMichael collection. Check out Mecum’s video for even more information straight from Dan himself.
