Corvette Museum Surpasses Fundraising Goal to Build the Motorsports Park

The sound of horsepower will soon fill the air across the highway from the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.

That’s because the NCM’s fundraising goal to raise an additional $1 million for the Motorsports Park by June 1st has come true. In fact, the Museum surpassed that amount by $95,471! With that goal met, it means that initial construction will include the west track.

[VIDEO] Corvette Museum Begins Clearing Land for Motorsports Park

The Motorsports Park near the National Corvette Museum continues to roar closer and closer to reality every day.

Crews hope to be done in 45 days as they began clearing the 184 acres of land last week for the track, which will be located off Porter Pike across from the museum on the opposite side of I-65.

The clearing hopefully is just a prelude to the official groundbreaking as early as next month, museum Executive Director Wendell Strode told The Bowling Green Daily News.

Corvette Museum's Zoning Request for Motorsports Park Clears Next Hurdle

The National Corvette Museum’s plans for a motorsports park remain on track for a proposed 2014 opening after the Warren County Fiscal Court on March 21 unanimously approved the first reading of a rezoning ordinance.

The museum must have the 405 acres of land changed from agriculture to planned unit development zoning for the facility to be built.

Corvette Museum Gets Zoning for Motorsport Park

It’s looking better and better for the National Corvette Museum’s plans to build a motorsports park to be used for high-performance driving and testing.

The City-County Planning Commission voted 8-3 to allow the museum to rezone more than 400 acres of land near Porter Pike and McGinnis Road from Agriculture to Planned Unit Development, the Bowling Green Daily News reports.
