As a scorching Corvette ZR1 roars around a turn in the background, automobile expert Matt Farah of the Attack of the Show asks viewers on the Web if they’d like to drive that.
“I can’t but I’d sure as hell like to,” Farah says. “Today that’s what we’re gonna do.”
We can debate all day long on whether the ability to slide your car around corners with the tires spinning and a huge cloud of smoke is a real form of “racing”. But where we will probably find agreement in is that the art of drifting is definitely something that takes a lot of practice to do right. The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah has spent many hours behind the wheel of various autos and even he admitted to not having a clue on how to properly drift. So he headed to the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving where Formula Drift newcomer Corey Hosford was ready for a full day of instruction.
At the SEMA show in 2006, Art Morrison’s project 3G Corvette won the “Gran Turismo Award” which also meant that it would be featured in the Playstation video game “Gran Turismo”. While many fans may have driven the custom 538 horsepower Corvette in the game, Matt Farah headed out to Spring Mountain motorsports park outside of Las Vegas to drive the real thing.
Matt Farah and The Smoking Tire put out a great new video featuring the new Cadillac CTS-V Wagon. Ferah took the sports wagon to the El Mirage Dry Lake Bed where he put the 556-hp Caddy through its paces which included a 3-mile top speed run while shouting out the speed to an OnStar advisor. Matt was also joined by his friend Chris who has a 480-hp tuned C6 Corvette. The two GM performance cars lined up for a half-mile sprint on the dry lake bed. See who wins after the jump!
