Bloomington Gold, the iconic “Granddaddy of Corvette Shows” has officially announced that they will be hosting the 2015 gathering (and beyond) at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The dates of the event in 2015 are June 25-27, which shifts the show to a more travel-friendly Thursday-Saturday format.
Ever since attending our first SEMA show, we’ve been hooked. And it’s not hard to see why either. There’s a ton of Corvette eye candy waiting to be seen with a different take on the car at just about every booth. Then tie in the cool new Corvette-related products, hot booth girls and the excitement of Las Vegas and that just about sums up what SEMA is all about.
Armed with our trusty Canon DSLR, we went hunting for Corvettes at the 2014 SEMA show and by our count, came up nearly 70 different cars ranging from a 1958 restomod to the 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible.
Ocean City Corvette Club held their annual Corvettes on the Boardwalk show in Ocean City, New Jersey on Sunday, September 21st. Many thanks to our friend Monica Mayer @ CU~Through The Lens who offered us the opportunity to share some photos from the show.
Our Corvette friends who have attended this show say it’s one of their favorites and it sure does look like a cool event they way it’s presented.
Although a move has been rumored for the last couple of weeks, we’ve confirmed today that the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show will be leaving Champaign, Ill. where the show has been hosted for the last two years on the grounds of the University of Illinois.
A representative from Bloomington Gold tells us a new location will be announced soon.

Doug Kinsman was just following orders when one of the judges at a prestigious car show asked him to see if the windshield washers worked on his 1962 Corvette.
Kinsman’s car was being judged last month at Cobble Beach when judge John Ballard requested the operation of the washers.
Kinsman had never tried them so he said he didn’t know if they would work or not.
He soon found out that they did squirt washer fluid, lots of it, in fact – just not in the right place.
Part of our responsibilities when covering Mid America Motorwork’s 2014 Corvette FunFest is the selection of a Corvette for our celebrity choice award. As we wandered Corvette FunFest’s back parking lot looking for the appropriate Corvette, we realized our work would be cut out for us. So many great Corvettes. So many great stories.
That’s when I spotted Mike McGuirk and his son Mike sitting behind a Honduras Maroon 1962 Corvette.
Finally made it!
The theme for this year’s FunFest was “Vets with Vettes” and so not only was it great to see all the Corvettes out in the fields but to have the opportunity to talk with our nation’s veterans and see all the patriotic displays including the traveling Vietnam Veteran’s wall memorial was something we’ll never forget.
It’s time for another CorvetteBlogger Poll! This time we want to hear from those of you who’ve attended Corvette Funfest.
Mid America’s Corvette Funfest turns 21 this weekend. The annual 4-day celebration at Mid America Motorworks’ HQ in Effingham, Illinois runs this Thursday through Sunday. Countless activities fill the docket, but we want to know what’s your favorite part of Corvette Funfest?
Nothing like a Corvette parade to end a fantastic weekend at the Corvettes at Carlisle show. We thought the weather might keep many away but in the end turnout was good from Corvette owners who drove from the fairgrounds as well as Carlisle’s residents who line the streets to watch them.
