It’s the middle of May and that means its time for the annual Corvette Beach Caravan and Car Show. For the last 33 years, Dorthan, Alabama’s Circle City Corvette club caravans down to Panama City Beach, Florida for a weekend of Corvette fun and camaraderie. Special guests for this year’s show will include the 2014 Corvette Stingray, Corvette exterior designer Kirk Bennion and NCM director Wendell Strode.

For 2013 they’ve already announced that the George Barris built Asteroid Corvette will be reintroduced there after a complete restoration. Now they’re looking for some more modified Corvettes for this year’s show – 4×4 Corvettes. Yes, you read that correctly.

Last week we attended the New York Auto Show and were able to see the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. It made its American debut wearing Night Race Blue with the 3LT Brownstone interior. While We were very impressed by the new convertible model and its distinct “Corvette” profile, it was the interior that had us wagging our tongues. If you were impressed by the previous C7 interiors you’ve seen, the 3LT Brownstone redefines the standard of luxury available on the new Corvette.

Chevrolet Inaugurates A New Corvette Club in the UAE

The worldwide appeal of the Chevrolet Corvette was never more evident than during a recent event in Abu Dhabi, thousands of miles away from the assembly plant in Bowling Green, Ky.

An exclusive drag day event for Corvette owners helped kick off the Corvette UAE Club’s Chevrolet Knights chapter on March 15 at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. More than 100 Corvette owners and guests attended the event.

[PICS] Experimental 1964 Rear Engine Corvette Prototype XP-819 Shows Its Stuff at Amelia Island

In 1964, Chevy engineers imagined hanging an aluminium Corvette engine off the back of the frame as part of an engineering study on safety and crash zones. Zora wasn’t really on board with the project until Larry Shinoda penned a design that many claim was the genesis for the C3 Corvette. The result was XP-819, a radical looking rear wheel drive prototype.

The Corvette was famously wrecked on the GM proving grounds after a tire test and while it was put back together, Chevy pretty much washed it hands of XP-819 after the accident and moved on in developing several other notable rear-engine prototypes.

[PICS] 2014 Corvette Stingray at the Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance

The 2014 Corvette Stingray made its first visit to the Southeast United States this weekend where it was on display at the Amelia Island Concours D’Elegance. The Stingray Coupe was situated on the grounds of the Ritz Carlton’s golf course and it was joined by white versions of Corvettes from each of the previous C1-C6 generations.
