[VIDEO] Nearly 100 Corvettes Gather in New Zealand for National Corvette Convention


Over the past 71 years, Corvettes have truly become a universal language.

For proof, just check out this year’s National Corvette Convention in Dunedin on the South Island of New Zealand, where some 100 Corvettes from past generations gathered last weekend.

With everything present from a C1 to a ’78 Pace Car to a ’96 Grand Sport to a C7 Z06, the Corvettes roared their way through some of the city’s most beautiful scenery Sunday morning, traveling more than 100 kilometers around greater Dunedin, the second largest city on the South Island.

“We had a great run out through the countryside today. It was beautiful out to Brighton and very enjoyable,” Corvette owner Trevor Paramenter said.

Paramenter was subsequently honored with several awards for taking such good care of his 1959 Corvette.

Just as in the United States, though, the three-day event is “mainly all about the people,” explained Dunedin Corvettes Club committee member Gregory Scott.

“Indeed, Chirstchurch resident Jackson Taylor, the youngest attendee, says the event has become a family affair for him.

“My great-uncle was always into them. He passed away two to three years ago and my aunty wanted to continue that, so it’s become a family affair,” Taylor said.

  2. A beautiful country to drive,my Corvette and I are jealous. Sold a lot of antique HD motorcycle parts to a guy in NZ that used to send me videos of some of his weekend rides on his 1926 HD JD with a sidecar and his dog. Stunning views and roads.
