Angelyne isn’t the only girl rockin’ a pink Corvette.

Visitors to the upcoming 2024 Canadian International AutoShow will have an opportunity for the first time to see in person the pink 1957 Corvette used in the recent blockbuster Barbie movie.

The Corvette features a 283 V8 engine and a custom wrap by One11ink. Action Vehicle Engineering Inc., designed the paint and exterior of the car, as well as the interior that includes a dashboard, instrument cluster, and custom upholstery on seats, door panels, and carpet.

In case Barbie isn’t your thing, Mattel will also be featuring life-sized replicas at the show of four Hot Wheels toy cars, including the Deora II, Green Loop Coupe, Gray Loop Coupe, and 1967 Camaro.

“We are excited to welcome Mattel back to the show with Barbie and Hot Wheels, two beloved brands with an appeal that spans generations,” says AutoShow General Manager Jason Campbell. “Showcasing full-sized versions inspired by some of their iconic cars is a chance for adults to reconnect with their childhood, and share that passion with their children.”

Donna Polimac, senior manager marketing of Mattel, also describes Barbie and Hot Wheels as “beloved brands” igniting passion and imagination across generations.

“We are thrilled for the AutoShow to be the first Canadian pit stop to welcome a vehicle inspired by Barbie’s legendary Corvette!” Polimac says. “Most importantly, for all car lovers, car collectors and guests alike, to re-engage with the toys they love through a new lens and for young children, to be reminded they can dream of becoming anything.”

Besides her iconic pink sports car, the Barbie display will also feature a life-size Barbie Box that guests can step inside to celebrate the Barbie lifestyle.

The AutoShow will be held February 16-25 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, where Mattel will be giving away a limited number of exclusive die-cast cars only available at the show with the purchase of a Hot Wheels at the Toys “R” Us pop-up shop there.

More information about the show – which features more than 650,000 square feet of exhibits, displays, and attractions and has an annual attendance of more than 350,000 to rank as the country’s largest automotive expo – can be found on autoshow.ca.

  1. I understand that the actual Barbie Corvette used in the movie is a 3/4 sized car and I don’t believe runs. I predict a few more pink 56/57 corvettes for that special little lady of a few houses.
