Corvettes on Craigslist: 1965 Corvette Project Car Named Barny Needs a New Home


Having two project cars going at the same time is a little much, so the owner of this 1965 Corvette convertible barn find is putting it up for sale.

He’s decided to try and sell “Barny the Project Car” and put his sole focus on “Old Blue” because he has “too many fond memories” restoring it with his family.

The seller came across “Barny” in a Wisconsin barn a few months ago, ending a hibernation that began 40 years ago.

A number of talented designers have been working on renders of the C8 Mid engine Corvette and we’ve been sharing some of the better designs we’ve come across here. Of course you’ve seen multiple FVS renders and the yellow C8 from our friends at ACS Composite, both of whom we found at the Mid Engine Corvette Forum.

Joining this cadre of designers is “Chazcron” who’s been diligently working on a new 3D render. Normally we would wait until the the work is finished and presented as such, but his design is really coming along based on the teaser above. We liked the side coves with the black cover especially and wanted to get your opinion on it.

Corvette enthusiasm starts at an early age for many people.

As a youngster, I still vividly remember a neighbor’s red 1969 Corvette. It broke my heart when he sold it! As a high school student working at a small grocery store, I loved it when one of our customers came in driving his new 1975 silver Corvette.

Each week, Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvette Stingrays, Grand Sports, Z06s and ZR1s to his customers who come from all parts of the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

In this week’s post, Mike shares the deliveries of several out of town customers. A new Elkhart Lake Blue Corvette was sold to a customer in California who flew to the east coast to pick up their car and are driving it cross country back home. Sounds like a great road trip!! A Florida customer had his new Grand Sport shipped directly to his door in Miami as did a customer in Oklahoma who took delivery of a new Elkhart Lake Blue Z06. Mike also has a great collection of vintage and throwback photos so get scrolling and swiping now!
