Gavin, Milner weather challenges of Shanghai Six Hours
SHANGHAI (Nov. 18, 2018) – Corvette Racing closed its 20th season of competition Sunday with hard-fought effort in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Six Hours of Shanghai as Tommy Milner, Oliver Gavin and the whole of the Corvette Racing program weathered… well, the weather.
Each week, Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvette Stingrays, Grand Sports, Z06s and ZR1s to his customers who come from all parts of the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
Good news if you don’t have a ZR1 but want to go racing with Mike at Spring Mountain in March. Check out that news below. In this week’s post, a little snow doesn’t stop the new Corvette deliveries. Customers from five different states are represented this week: Washington, New York, Florida, Michigan, and Maryland. As always, check out the great collection of vintage Corvette photos!

Welcome back to On the Campaign Trail where I’m chronicling my experiences with my 1972 Corvette convertible. While the politicians spent the summer campaigning for votes, I spent the summer campaigning for high-level Corvette show awards. When we left off last time I had just wrapped up at the NCRS Motor City Regional. Now with my Top Flight ribbon in my back pocket, it was off to Bloomington Gold to chase Survivor, Bloomington Gold, and Benchmark honors.

We noted last week how Corvette Racing was essentially penalized for joining the FIA WEC’s Six Hours of Shanghai with a 27 kg weight penalty. The BoP weight penalty raised the No. 64 C7.R minimum weight to 1276 kg, which was nearly 60 lbs heavier than its earlier 2018 FIA WEC race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans just a few months ago.
Corvette Racing is making its first start in the Far East this weekend as the most successful sports car racing team in North America heads to China to take on the FIA WEC’s Six Hours of Shanghai this weekend!
