Manchester United Soccer Star Loses License for Speeding in His Corvette Stingray


We always knew soccer players were good with their feet, but in this case it was his lead foot that landed a soccer star in the United Kingdom in hot water with the law.

Back in April, former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke, 44, was captured on automatic speed camera driving 66 mph, 24 mph over the speed limit, in his red Corvette Stingray convertible.

On Thursday, teams in the now-titled WeatherTech SportsCar Championship unloaded their race cars at Daytona to participate in the Roar Before the 24 practice weekend in advance of the Rolex 24 at the end of January.

Two of the 54 cars participating in the Roar belonged the Corvette Racing and looking at the tweets from some of the team members, we can see an updated livery on the Corvettes for 2016.

This morning, General Motors issued their final sales report for the 2015 calendar year. In December 2015, Chevrolet sold 2,453 Corvettes for a decline of -30.9% over the 3,552 Corvettes sold in December 2014. For the calendar year, a total of 33,329 Corvettes were delivered to new owners which was a -4.3% decline from the 34,839 Corvettes delivered during all off 2014.

Happy New Year, Corvette lovers!

After a couple weeks of food, fun and family (and some Kentucky Bourbon!), it’s time to get back to the business of Corvettes and for me, the second generation is a great place to be.
