[VIDEO] Ford Mustang Drags a C7 Corvette Grand Sport and it Doesn't End Well For the Pony Car


Chevy and Ford have been going at it for years, with the Camaro and Mustang usually pitted against each other on the track.

Those competitions may soon grow a little more nostalgic, however, with the last of the new Camaros slated to leave the assembly line before the end of this year.

That lack of new Camaros could mean we might see more of its big brother, the front-engine Corvette, taking on high-end Mustangs in the future, as witnessed by this run on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway recently captured by the guys at the Wheels channel on YouTube.

Here, we find a C7 Grand Sport, decked out in Arctic White and a blue stinger stripe, going up against a Mustang S550.

For some reason, the two cars didn’t do the traditional burnout, opting instead to pull straight up to the line.

That’s a decision that the Mustang driver soon came to regret, as not long after taking off from the line, he loses control of the car and whips it to the left, crashing its front end into the retaining wall and leaving the horn blaring and underhood steam floating into the night sky.

Fortunately, he is able to climb out of the car apparently unscathed, other than perhaps having his pride shattered a little bit, as emergency crews get ready to handle a fire that doesn’t materialize, at least on video.

We also don’t get to witness the end of the race, but apparently the Corvette did make it to the finish line unscathed, though its time was undocumented by the camera.

  2. You usually see that sort of thing on the street, the back end gets loose and the driver does everything wrong starting with hitting the brakes. All this guy needed to do was DRIVE THE CAR and stay off the brakes.

  3. Ya that was a crappy driver end result there. Vette was smoking him anyway but that’s a ruff way to lose a race. Ya I know, it’s only a Stang.

  6. Who cares vettes are trash. The brand new Z06 can’t even keep up with the mustang dark horse. There is a video of one getting walked by 3 car lengths.
