Rossi SixtySix Fuses Classic Corvette Sting Ray Looks with C6 Technology

Almost two years ago the world was introduced to the Rossi SixtySix, a C6 Corvette refitted with custom panels that borrow some of the best design features of the 1963-67 Sting Rays while updating the mid-year look for the 21 century. Final 2010 Corvette Production Statistics

Production of the 2010 Corvette model has wrapped up and GM has released the final production statistics for the 2010 Corvette model year. The final count of Corvettes produced for MY 2010 is 12,194. That’s a decrease of 28.1% from 2009′s 16,956 production and a whopping 65.5% off the 35,310 Corvettes produced in 2008.

#64 Corvette to Start on the Pole at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Initial qualifying was the Risi Competizione Ferrari, then Corvette #64, Corvette #63 and Ferrari again.

Reason is unknown at this time but Risi Competizione has been sent to the back of the grid following inspection after qualifying. This leaves the # 64 Corvette on the pole with #63 C6.R second!

Study Shows Corvette Gift to Pitcher Nets GM $9 million in Media Exposure

Last week’s gift of a 2010 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible to Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga, whose quest for a perfect game was ended by a blown call, garnered all sorts of attention for General Motors. While the detractors like The New York Times questioned the taxpayer-subsidized sports car giveaway to a professional athlete, it turns out the goodwill gesture netted GM nearly $9 million in publicity.

GM Releases Prices for 2011 Corvettes

GM has released the MSRP pricing for the 2011 Corvette and overall, prices for all the models except the Corvette ZR1 have increased just $20 over the prices of the 2010 Corvette. For the ZR1, pricing has increased $2,920 to $109,800 for the base model.

Chevy Awards Detroit Pitcher New Corvette Grand Sport for Great Performance

Detroit Pitcher Armando Galarraga’s quest for a perfect game on Wednesday against the Cleveland Indians came to an end after a botched call by the first base umpire ruled the 27th and final batter safe. Galarraga kept his cool and retired the next batter to record a one-hit, 3-0 shutout in the game. As a reward for Galarraga’s performance on and off the field, Chevrolet stepped up to the plate and delivered a new 2010 Corvette Grand Sport convertible to the hometown pitching hero.

May 2010 Corvette Sales

May 2010 Corvette sales report was released today by General Motors and the good news is that deliveries are at their highest level since September 2009. 1,428 Corvettes were delivered in May compared to April 2010′s 1,089 Corvettes the month prior. Corvettes haven’t sold this well since the 1,585 Corvettes sold in September 2009. Compared to a year ago, sales are off -13.1% with 1,643 Corvettes sold in May 2009 and calendar year to date sales are down -18.9%.
