Here’s a nice gallery of Midyear Corvette photos to help get you though the day. If you like these random galleries, please let us know and don’t forget to share them on Facebook and Twitter!
In the Iron Man movie franchise, Billionaire Tony Stark is known for driving Audi’s.
But in the real world, the actor who plays Tony Stark prefers fiberglass.
At least that was the case on Sunday when Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan were spotted enjoying the nice Southern California weather yesterday with a drive in the Downey’s 1965 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible.
It’s Monday so let’s ease the pain with a random gallery of Midyear Corvettes from 1963-67.
The January collector car auctions in Arizona and Florida each year help set the tone for the rest of the auction year. Once again there were plenty of high end Corvettes and eager bidders to go around as 6 and 7-figure bids were quite common. We’ve already taken a look at the Mecum Kissimmee results, but how do they stack up against all of the other January sales? Click past the jump to find out.
Lately we’ve been thinking about adding some additional eye candy to CorvetteBlogger with some random photo galleries. So why not kick this week off with 20+ random photos of 1963-1967 Corvettes, affectionately referred to as midyears. If you like, feel free to offer a suggestion for an image gallery of Corvettes you would like to see.
The “Real McCoy” $2.3M Sale Postponed During Dispute of Ownership on Parts
More than the weather failed to cooperate for the world’s largest collector car auction, Dana Mecum’s 2700 car Kissimmee event held January 17th through January 26th. Each year hundreds of Corvettes change hands during the ten day event as thousands of collectors and enthusiasts leave the cold weather blanketing most of the country and make their pilgrimage to the event in sunny, warm Florida. This year, though hundreds of airline flights were cancelled due to the weather, the pilgrimage still managed to take place even though the pilgrims were greeted with sunny but not very warm weather in Florida, the attendance slipped by over 6% and sales dropped by over $8M, down 11.4%.
There aren’t many names more familiar to the Corvette enthusiast than that of Ralph Eckler, founder of Eckler Corvette Parts, which has grown into one of the top suppliers of quality Corvette parts and accessories over the past 40 years.
Mr. Eckler is now retired from the company that bears his name, but that doesn’t mean his love for Corvettes has gone away.
Just the opposite. He’s now taken his enthusiasm for Corvettes to a new and exciting level with the introduction of his Ralph Eckler Signature Car Collection.
One of my all time favorite annual Corvette events is the NCRS Winter Regional in Kissimmee, Florida. While I love doing the stories and coverage of the new C7 Corvette Stingray and Z06, there’s just something about walking through a field literately strewn with used Corvette parts and accessories for every generation but the C7.
You know the Corvette Z06, any red blooded auto enthusiast does! This head turning, track dominating, ultra-performance sports car has inspired both racers and the everyday Corvette lover to add a little more excitement to their lives. The unique features of the 2015 Z06 are grabbing headlines and causing many of us to check how much equity we have in our house, and it’s not even on sale yet.
However, the new Z06 isn’t the only one that’s ever made waves in the auto industry — well actually, every time a Z06 has rolled off an assembly line, it’s been a game changer in the industry. We could talk about the Z06 all day long (and what a great day that would be), but we’d rather show you the distinctions of this glorious automobile with this awesome infographic.
